The Department of Anesthesiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants to join the Pediatric Anesthesiology Division at Children’s Wisconsin. The role involves providing anesthesia care for a diverse pediatric patient population in a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center, working under the supervision of Pediatric Anesthesiologists. Responsibilities

• Administer general and local anesthesia to pediatric patients.
• Monitor patients during anesthesia, including testing and calibrating delivery systems and monitors.
• Prepare patients for anesthesia, including obtaining medical histories and conducting physical exams.
• Develop and recommend anesthetic care plans in collaboration with anesthesiologists.
• Perform post-procedure assessments to ensure patient recovery.
• Operate anesthesia equipment and ensure patient safety throughout procedures.
• Administer or order diagnostic and laboratory tests as needed.
• Perform administrative duties such as reviewing medical records and following up with patients and families.

Compensation

• Salary-based compensation with additional income opportunities such as sign-on bonus and CME allowance.
• Compensation is provided through a W-2 tax model.
• Sign-on bonus available.
• Annual CME stipend of $2,000.

Shift & Schedule

• Variable schedule with options such as 3x13-hour shifts, 4x10-hour shifts, or 7x10-hour shifts.

Requirements

• Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) certification.
• Ability to provide high-quality anesthesia care in a pediatric setting.
• Experience or interest in pediatric anesthesia; initial structured support provided for those without prior pediatric experience.
• Strong understanding of anesthesia equipment and monitoring systems.
• Excellent communication skills for patient history taking and team collaboration.
• Ability to work effectively under supervision and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Flexibility to accommodate variable scheduling needs.
• Commitment to patient safety and quality care.
• Basic life support (BLS) and advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) certification preferred.
• Experience working in a hospital or surgical center environment is advantageous.
