The Miami, FL Veterans Affairs Medical Center is seeking a Physician Assistant with Gastroenterology or Hepatology experience to provide outpatient care for Veteran patients. The role involves performing assessments, developing treatment plans, and assisting in GI procedures such as endoscopies and colonoscopies, under physician review or co-signature.

Responsibilities

• Perform overall assessment of patients' conditions through history taking, record reviews, and physical examinations.
• Diagnose and develop individualized treatment plans for gastrointestinal conditions.
• Perform esophageal manometry, including documentation and preliminary reports.
• Assist in gastrointestinal procedures, including endoscopies and colonoscopies.
• Provide outpatient care for Veteran patients, sometimes under physician review or co-signature.

Compensation

• Salary range: $111,148 to $205,180 (W-2).
• Guaranteed salary increases.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of Gastroenterology or Hepatology experience involving direct outpatient patient interaction.
• Experience managing patients with gastrointestinal disorders or liver disease.
• Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant; a full, unrestricted license from any state is acceptable.
• Degree, certification, and licensure as a Physician Assistant.
• Experience performing GI procedures such as endoscopies and colonoscopies.
• Ability to work in an outpatient setting with Veteran patients.
• Proficiency in patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
• Strong communication skills for patient interaction and collaboration with physicians.
• Experience with esophageal manometry is preferred.
• Prior experience in a VA or similar healthcare setting is advantageous.
