The Advanced Practice healthcare professional is a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with experience in cardiology and cardiac stress testing. The role involves performing and supervising stress tests, ensuring patient safety, and providing follow-up care in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety before, during, and after cardiac stress testing.
• Perform cardiac stress testing on adult patients in the Stress Test Lab.
• Collaborate with referring providers to ensure appropriate testing.
• Conduct pre-assessment and obtain patient consent.
• Monitor patients throughout the test and recovery, and complete all documentation.
• Provide urgent care and follow-up for patients with acute coronary syndrome, arrhythmias, or post-test complications, following AHA and ACC guidelines.
• Perform exercise and pharmacological stress testing according to protocols.
• Supervise technicians during stress testing.

Requirements

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited school or Master of Science and Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C).
• At least 2 years of experience in an expanded healthcare provider role.
• Experience in cardiology.
• Proven competency with stress testing (preferred) or ability to obtain observed and supervised stress test competencies within 90 days of hire.
• Vermont APRN license with prescriptive authority or Vermont PA license with no restrictions.
• Current DEA license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Competency with EMR, department software, and Microsoft Office.
