The Pediatric Neurosurgery Advanced Practice Provider (PA) at Driscoll Children's Hospital is a full-time role involving outpatient and inpatient care, including clinic coverage, inpatient rounding, and potential OR time. The provider will deliver comprehensive pediatric neurosurgical services, functioning independently to assess, diagnose, treat, and educate patients and families within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient clinic care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of pediatric neurosurgical patients.
• Perform inpatient rounding and manage inpatient care needs.
• Respond to inpatient questions and provide daytime consult coverage, including new ER and inpatient consults.
• Coordinate care and educate patients and families about treatment plans.
• Participate in possible operating room procedures based on training and schedule.
• Travel to satellite clinics as scheduled, with travel times from 7 am to 6 or 7 pm depending on location.
• Utilize the EPIC electronic medical record system for documentation and communication.
• Work Monday through Friday, with clinic hours from 7 am to 5 pm, and no call responsibilities at this time.

Requirements

• Completed an approved Physician Assistant program.
• Certified and licensed to practice in Texas or able to obtain licensure.
• Minimum of 3 years of operating room experience in any surgical specialty.
• Ability to work independently and manage a full scope of pediatric neurosurgical care.
• Excellent communication and patient education skills.
• Experience with EPIC EMR system preferred.
• Ability to travel to satellite clinics as needed.
• No prior pediatric experience required.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate multidisciplinary care.
• Willingness to work daytime hours with no call responsibilities.
