This is a part-time, locum pediatric pulmonology position requiring inpatient and outpatient coverage. The provider will manage scheduled clinic hours, inpatient care, bronchoscopy procedures, and call duties, primarily on a one-week-per-month basis. The role involves supervising advanced practice providers and responding to in-house call within a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient and outpatient pediatric pulmonology care, including bronchoscopy procedures.
  • Manage scheduled clinic hours and respond to patient needs during assigned shifts.
  • Participate in in-house call coverage, including night and day shifts, approximately one week per month.
  • Supervise and collaborate with advanced practice providers, including RNs, MAs, and APPs.
  • Respond to in-house call within 15 minutes, handling phone consults and patient admissions as needed.
  • Perform bronchoscopy procedures and manage acute respiratory cases.
  • Ensure timely credentialing and maintain compliance with hospital policies.
  • Provide coverage for both scheduled and emergent patient needs in a hospital setting.

Compensation

  • $250 per hour (regular hourly rate)
  • $250 per shift for beeper call
  • $2,400 per shift for 24-hour call
  • $400 per hour for callback after 8 hours (gratis)

Shift & Schedule

  • One week per month of inpatient and call coverage
  • Variable schedule days and shift timings
  • In-house call with a 15-minute response time

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree with active Pennsylvania medical license.
  • Board eligible in Pediatric Pulmonology.
  • ACLS and PALS certifications.
  • Minimum of one week per month availability for inpatient and call coverage.
  • Experience with bronchoscopy and inpatient pediatric pulmonology care preferred.
  • Ability to respond promptly to in-house call within 15 minutes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to work variable schedules, including nights and weekends.
  • Previous experience in hospital-based pediatric pulmonology preferred.
  • Must be able to supervise advanced practice providers and support staff.
