The Nurse Practitioner will provide patient care in an occupational medicine setting, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and patient education. This position is scheduled for Fridays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, working within a team environment to deliver clinical services and ensure quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient health history and presenting illness through interviews, chart reviews, and physical examinations.
  • Order and perform diagnostic tests and screenings as needed, consulting with physicians and clinicians for evaluation.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, prescribe medications and injections in accordance with guidelines and laws, and handle minor lacerations.
  • Educate patients and families on medications, treatments, health promotion, and illness prevention.
  • Document all clinical activities, test results, diagnoses, and treatments accurately in the electronic medical record.
  • Participate in peer reviews, chart reviews, staff education, clinical guideline development, and quality assurance activities.
  • Communicate effectively with management, providers, and patients, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations, demonstrate patient advocacy, and maintain a compassionate, respectful approach.

Compensation

  • Salary compensation model, paid via W-2 tax status.

Shift & Schedule

  • Work schedule is Monday through Friday.
  • Shift hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, daytime hours.

Requirements

  • Current state registered nurse license.
  • Current state license as an advanced registered nurse practitioner with prescriptive authority.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • BSN required; MSN preferred.
  • Successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program with certification.
  • Minimum of three years of professional nursing experience in a clinical setting, plus two years of nurse practitioner experience.
  • Demonstrated communication skills and ability to handle patient confidentiality.
  • Operational knowledge of EMR, scheduling, billing software, and basic office equipment.
  • Commitment to ongoing education, including regulatory and compliance training.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and demonstrate professional and ethical standards.
