The University of Phoenix seeks an experienced Nurse Practitioner with adult and geriatric clinical practice to serve as an Associate Faculty member. This remote position involves delivering undergraduate and graduate nursing courses, engaging students in academic and clinical activities, and supporting student success in an online environment. The role requires current clinical experience, professional certification, and active faculty scholarship engagement.
Responsibilities
- Deliver course content, learning activities, and student assessments using university materials, ensuring timely availability of class resources.
- Maintain an engaged classroom presence, respond promptly to student inquiries, and create a supportive learning environment.
- Support student development through coaching, tutoring, and overseeing clinical, practicum, or mentorship experiences as required.
- Attend faculty meetings and university events, and stay current with course updates and instructional standards.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through ongoing education, certification, and professional activities.
- Instruct and perform other duties in an online environment, adapting to technological changes as needed.
- Proactively address student academic issues in accordance with university policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by university leadership.
Compensation
- Pay is on a per course basis, ranging from $1,035 to $3,686 for most states.
- In California, the hourly rate is $31.25.
- Compensation is provided as a W-2 employee.

Requirements
- Doctor of Nursing Science, Doctor of Nursing Practice, PhD in Nursing, or a Master's degree in Nursing with at least 5 years of clinical nursing experience, including 2 years managing adult and geriatric populations.
- Active, unencumbered RN license in Arizona or multistate license.
- Arizona APRN certification and National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Current Nurse Practitioner practice experience within the last 2 years.
- Familiarity with adult education teaching and learning theory.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for diverse constituencies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related technology.
- Ability to represent the university professionally within the community.
- Commitment to maintaining annual scholarship engagement as per university requirements.
