The Physician Assistant in Cardiothoracic ICU at Lankenau Medical Center provides diagnostic, therapeutic, and perioperative care under physician supervision. Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic tasks under the supervision of the surgeon in the cardiothoracic ICU.
- Provide preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative patient care.
- Serve as a patient advocate, liaison, and confidant, ensuring personalized care.
- Assist in establishing diagnoses and planning treatment strategies.
- Support patient education and communication between patients and physicians.
- Participate in weekend and holiday shifts as required.
- Maintain certification and stay current with BLS and ACLS training.
- Contribute to a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.

Shift & Schedule

Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in a physical science from an accredited institution.
- Graduate of an accredited physician assistant/surgical assistant program.
- Certification or eligibility for certification by the NCCPA.
- Current or eligible PA license in Pennsylvania.
- Recent two years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery preferred.
- Completion of basic and advanced cardiac life support courses.
- Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong communication and patient advocacy skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to pursue further certifications or advanced degrees.
