The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is responsible for delivering urgent care services across multiple Breeze Urgent Care locations within the East Zone of Texas Health. This PRN role involves providing direct patient care, performing minor procedures, and developing treatment plans under limited supervision, primarily during daytime hours.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care for minor illnesses and injuries in an urgent care setting.
  • Perform assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, EKGs, and lab studies.
  • Administer treatments including injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound management.
  • Develop and implement patient management plans, document progress, and ensure continuity of care.
  • Educate and counsel patients on treatment regimens, health maintenance, and wellness.
  • Refer patients to specialists or other care options as appropriate.
  • Coordinate with medical staff and ancillary personnel to deliver comprehensive care.
  • Respond calmly to stressful situations and maintain professional, empathetic interactions with patients.

Compensation

  • Compensation model: Other (W-2 tax status).

Shift & Schedule

  • Variable days, primarily daytime hours.
  • Work schedule includes a minimum of 2 shifts per month.
  • Shifts are scheduled during daytime hours (8 a.m. to 8 p.m.).

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant program; Bachelors Degree accepted for Physician Assistants.
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program prior to January 2021.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience as an APP in urgent care or emergency department, or 1 year in family practice or related field.
  • Suturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Current Texas RN license and Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant licensure and certification.
  • National certification or eligibility for certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Valid Texas Drug Enforcement Agency license.
  • BCLS certification maintained every 2 years.
  • Availability to work a minimum of 2 shifts per month, including at least one major and one minor holiday per year.
  • Must be available to work across multiple locations within the East Zone, including McKinney, Dallas, Frisco, Plano, Lewisville, Allen, Wylie, Rockwall, Richardson, Melissa, and Forney.
