A locum tenens Neonatal Advanced Practice Provider (APP) position is available in Salt Lake City, Utah, within a Level 4 ECMO surgical unit. The role involves inpatient care, including patient assessments, documentation, and procedures, with a focus on neonatal intensive care. The assignment runs from January 1, 2026, to January 1, 2027, requiring at least three 12-hour shifts per week, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• See neonatal patients in the inpatient setting, including obtaining and documenting patient history and discharge exams
• Perform procedures such as endotracheal intubation, thoracentesis, lumbar puncture, and other diagnostic or therapeutic interventions
• Prescribe and administer medications, including controlled substances (Classes II-V) and non-controlled drugs
• Manage ventilator therapy, including conventional, high-frequency, and ECMO support
• Provide consultations and coordinate patient care within the hospital
• Document clinical findings and procedures accurately in the EMR (EPIC)
• Participate in patient rounds and collaborate with the healthcare team
• Adhere to hospital policies and maintain clinical compliance, including sedation procedures if applicable

Shift & Schedule

• Variable schedule with mostly 12-hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Typically at least three 12-hour shifts per week, totaling approximately 24 shifts per month

Requirements

• DNP or MSN/MSRN degree
• Board certification as a PA or NCC certification for NP
• Level 4 NICU surgical experience preferred
• Utah license or IMLC certification
• Minimum of 1 year relevant clinical experience
• Ability to perform neonatal procedures and manage ventilator and ECMO therapies
• Current BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
• Experience with EPIC EMR system
• Ability to work variable shifts, including 12-hour day and night shifts, with availability for weekends and holidays
• Strong clinical documentation and patient assessment skills
