Aspirus Health is seeking a Physician Assistant to join its Cardiothoracic Surgery program. The role involves providing critical care, pre- and post-operative patient management, performing bedside procedures, and developing expertise in endoscopic vessel harvest. The position offers a mix of surgical, inpatient, and outpatient responsibilities with a focus on autonomous practice supported by training.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre- and post-operative patient care with a high degree of autonomy.
• Perform invasive and noninvasive bedside procedures.
• Integrate Point-of-Care Ultrasound into patient management.
• Develop expertise in endoscopic vessel harvest techniques.
• Participate in the PICC line team and other invasive procedures.
• Manage inpatient care primarily at one hospital, with some clinic duties.
• Support a call schedule with a goal of 1:5 call coverage.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience and/or endoscopic vessel harvest experience (new graduates encouraged to apply).
• Ability to practice with autonomy in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong clinical skills in bedside procedures and patient management.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to integrate Point-of-Care Ultrasound into clinical practice.
• Willingness to participate in call schedule and flexible hours.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant.
• Experience or interest in cardiothoracic surgery preferred but not mandatory.
• Self-motivated with a commitment to high-quality patient care.
• Ability to adapt to variable schedules and clinical demands.
