This hospital-based position involves assisting in cardiac and thoracic surgeries, primarily focusing on first assist roles in the OR, with responsibilities including rounding in the Step Down unit and CVICU, as well as office duties. The role offers a Monday through Friday schedule with a 1:4 call rotation, including weekend rounds, and serves adult and geriatric patient populations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in cardiac and thoracic surgical cases as a first assist
- Round in the Step Down unit and CVICU as needed
- Participate in a 1:4 call rotation including weekend rounds
- Perform office duties 1-2 days per week
- Provide care for adult and geriatric patients
- Perform endoscopic vein harvesting (experience required)
- Rotate between operating room and clinic on the same campus
- Support hospital-based surgical services
Compensation
- Hourly rate from $100.00 to $125.00, depending on experience and qualifications

Shift & Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 4:30 pm
- Dayshift hours, approximately 9 hours per day
- 1:4 call rotation including weekend rounds
- Schedule includes hospital-based duties and clinic work
Requirements

- Flexibility to participate in call rotation including weekends
- Competence in hospital-based surgical procedures
- Strong clinical skills in cardiac and thoracic surgery
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Licensing and credentialing in the relevant state
- Prior experience in a hospital setting preferred
