IU Health is seeking a Pathologists' Assistant for a full-time, evening shift position at their downtown Indianapolis laboratory. The role involves grossing surgical pathology specimens, performing frozen sections, and collaborating with pathology staff and residents within a large, diverse pathology system. Responsibilities

• Perform gross examination and dissection of surgical pathology specimens.
• Conduct frozen section procedures for intraoperative diagnosis.
• Collaborate with pathologists and residents on specimen processing and diagnosis.
• Maintain accurate documentation of specimen data and procedures.
• Adhere to technical protocols and quality standards established by the laboratory.
• Participate in training and orientation specific to the laboratory's practices.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines.

Requirements

• Graduation from a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists' Assistant program.
• ASCP certification as a Pathologists' Assistant.
• Open to new graduates with appropriate training and certification.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and technical proficiency.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Willingness to undergo orientation and training specific to the laboratory.
• Personal integrity and professionalism in a clinical setting.
