The Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide direct medical care to patients. The role involves evaluating, diagnosing, and treating both chronic and acute illnesses within a primary care setting, with responsibilities including patient assessment, ordering and reviewing diagnostic tests, documentation, and collaborating with a healthcare team. The position offers flexible full-time or part-time hours, with some travel to satellite clinics possible.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of chronic and acute illnesses.
• Attend to patients in a timely and organized manner to minimize wait times and maximize productivity.
• Obtain patient history, perform physical evaluations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans with follow-up.
• Order and review lab, x-ray, EKG reports, and follow up with patients accordingly.
• Ensure complete and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, medical assistants, and social services to provide integrated care.
• Complete 3 to 4 patient encounters per clinical hour and close encounter notes within three business days.
• Work independently with strong clinical judgment and maintain a positive attitude focused on patient care.

Compensation

• Hourly pay rate between $62.50 and $72.00.
• W-2 employment status.
• Compensation based on experience and qualifications.

Requirements

• Current license to practice as an APRN or PA in Texas with no disciplinary actions.
• Active DEA license or ability to obtain one.
• Previous experience in a primary care setting preferred.
• Ability to work independently with strong clinical judgment.
• Comfortable completing 3-4 patient encounters per hour.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and perform duties in a clinical and office setting.
• Normal clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, with some schedule negotiation.
• Some travel to satellite clinics may be required.
• Tasks performed in both medical office and clinic environments.
