The Physician Assistant provides comprehensive medical care by performing history taking, physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, diagnosing conditions, and administering treatments. The role involves working independently and collaboratively within a clinical setting to deliver patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive history taking and physical examinations of patients.
• Order, interpret, and review diagnostic tests and results.
• Diagnose medical conditions and develop treatment plans.
• Administer or assist with therapeutic procedures such as injections, suturing, wound care, and infection management.
• Educate patients and families on preventive care, medications, and treatment options.

Requirements

• Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with current certification/licensure in good standing (e.g., Georgia Board of Nursing or Medical Board).
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or PA program.
• CPR certification; ACLS and PALS as required for specialty.
• Up-to-date CME credits for licensure renewal.
• Knowledge of clinical procedures, diagnostic interpretation, and coding (CPT and ICD-9).
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and patient education skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in high-stress situations.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to maintain detailed medical documentation.
• Physical ability to perform light lifting, reach, bend, and move freely.
• Experience in a physician office setting preferred.
