Nemours Children's Health Florida is seeking casual and part-time Neonatal Advanced Practice Providers to staff the Level III NICU at Studer Family Children's Hospital in Pensacola. The role involves rounding with neonatologists, managing neonatal intensive care patients, and participating in daily NICU rounds under supervision, with rotating shifts required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and provide care for neonatal intensive care patients in collaboration with neonatologists, under supervision.
  • Conduct parent interviews and obtain family history.
  • Collaborate with neonatologists on patient history, physical findings, diagnostics, and treatments.
  • Order laboratory tests and procedures as appropriate.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures necessary for neonatal care.
  • Provide care items such as temperature stabilization, hyperalimentation, feeding management, and phototherapy.
  • Complete timely documentation according to departmental policies and standards.
  • Participate in daily NICU rounds and meet departmental goals.

Compensation

  • Salary-based compensation (W-2 tax status).

Shift & Schedule

  • Variable days and shift timings.
  • Rotating shifts required.
  • Call responsibilities included.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program or licensed Advanced Practice Nurse/Physician Assistant in Florida.
  • Active licensure as a Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Nurse in Florida.
  • Current AHA BLS certification.
  • Experience or training in neonatal intensive care preferred but not explicitly required.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including variable days and times.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Commitment to providing culturally relevant and equitable care.
  • Ability to work independently under supervision of neonatologists.
  • Experience with electronic medical records, preferably Cerner EMR.
  • Strong documentation skills and adherence to departmental policies.
