The Physician Assistant (PA) provides primary medical care under the supervision of a physician and the direction of the Medical Director. The role involves delivering comprehensive health maintenance services, assisting with diagnosis and treatment, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulations within a Federally Qualified Health Center setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive health maintenance services for patients.
• Assist in coordinating and/or supervising preventive services, including well-child, well-adult, maternity, and prenatal care.
• Support diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions, including laboratory and pharmacy support.
• Contribute to maintaining the Quality Assurance Program and assist in clinical staff training.
• Act as a liaison with the medical community and external agencies, facilitating referrals and communication.
• Ensure appropriate physician interventions when necessary and participate in hospital rounding and after-call systems.
• Adhere to compliance standards, stay informed of relevant regulations, and train staff accordingly.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Medical Director or Site Manager.

Compensation

• Salary paid via W-2 model.
• Includes loan repayment assistance through the NHSC and Michigan State Loan Repayment Program for eligible roles.
• Compensation package may include other income types such as loan repayment.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in Michigan.
• Board certification or eligibility in a relevant specialty field.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations.
• Basic Life Support/CPR certification as required.
• Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills under pressure.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision and accept constructive criticism.
• Physical ability to perform tasks such as standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and using PPE as needed.
• Experience or evidence of ongoing professional development (CEUs or equivalent).
• Ability to perform physical tasks and work under various demands while maintaining professionalism.
