The Physician Assistant will provide clinical care within an orthopedic practice, including follow-up and direct patient care for both adult and pediatric patients. The role involves collaborating with physicians and healthcare facilities, performing diagnostic evaluations, and contributing to quality assurance under physician supervision. The provider must be credentialed, privileged, and licensed to practice in Texas, with the ability to bill independently as recognized by Medicare and Medicaid.

Responsibilities

• Conduct clinic follow-up visits with new and established patients in orthopedics.
• Render direct patient care and perform diagnostic evaluations.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare facilities to coordinate patient services.
• Review patient care plans with supervising physicians according to approved protocols.
• Provide clinical services and participate in quality assurance activities.
• Maintain documentation and communicate complex medical information clearly.
• Work independently and as part of a team to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Ensure compliance with licensing, credentialing, and billing requirements.

Requirements

• Graduate of a Master's Degree in Physician Assistant educational program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant.
• Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in Texas.
• Current certification by the NCCPA.
• Current DEA, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and First Assist certifications.
• Willingness to train in orthopedics.
• Knowledge of diagnosis, treatment, and physical rehabilitation practices.
• Ability to interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
