We are seeking a full-time Urgent Care Physician Assistant to provide medical services at multiple clinics in Port Charlotte, FL. The provider will see a diverse patient population, perform minor procedures, and utilize on-site diagnostic and laboratory services. The role offers flexible scheduling with 10-hour shifts and requires experience in urgent care or emergency medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provide urgent care services to a wide range of patients, including minor procedures such as splinting, suturing, and incision & drainage.
• Manage a patient load of approximately 18-20 patients per day.
• Utilize on-site diagnostic imaging and laboratory services to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment.
• Collaborate with on-site specialists during the week for backup support.
• Maintain accurate documentation within the EMR system (DrChrono).
• Adhere to clinical protocols and ensure quality patient care.
• Perform procedures such as steroid injections and orthopedics-related treatments as needed.
• Work variable 10-hour shifts, sometimes exceeding scheduled hours.

Compensation

• $65.00 to $75.00 per hour (1099 contractor).
• Hourly compensation based on experience and schedule.
• Potential for additional hours beyond scheduled shifts.

Requirements

• Current Florida Physician Assistant license.
• Board certification as a Physician Assistant.
• Experience in urgent care or emergency room settings.
• Proficiency with EMR systems, specifically DrChrono.
• DOT certification preferred.
• Ability to perform minor procedures including suturing, splinting, and I&D.
• Experience with steroid injections, orthopedics, and workers' compensation cases is a plus.
• Must be able to work variable schedules, including 10-hour shifts.
• Excellent clinical and communication skills.
• Ability to treat all patient populations.
