Emory Healthcare is seeking experienced Advanced Practice Providers, including Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, to join the Cardiac Critical Care Unit at Emory University Hospital. The role involves managing patients with complex cardiac conditions, including multi-system failure, advanced heart failure, and post-transplant care, with support for mechanical circulatory and ventilatory support. This is a nocturnist position requiring night shifts, with a focus on acute care in a highly specialized cardiac ICU setting.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients with complex cardiac conditions under physician supervision.
• Perform physical examinations and specialized diagnostic or therapeutic procedures, such as CVL and arterial line placements.
• Document patient histories, psychosocial factors, health status, and medical problems in medical records.
• Assist in diagnosing medical issues, developing care plans, and prescribing treatments.
• Manage patients in severe states of shock, including those requiring mechanical circulatory or ventilatory support.
• Conduct patient interviews and assess health and psychosocial histories.
• Support multidisciplinary team efforts in a high-acuity ICU environment.
• Maintain compliance with clinical protocols and documentation standards.

Compensation

• Hourly rate ranging from USD $40.85 to $74.51, with a highly competitive salary structure.

Shift & Schedule

• Night shifts, 12 hours per shift.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Current licensure as an advanced practice provider in Georgia (Georgia Board of Nursing or appropriate licensing body).
• Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (ACNP or AGACNP) or Physician Assistant (NCCPA).
• Minimum of one year of experience in high-acuity clinical settings preferred.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association; ACLS may be required.
• Experience with invasive procedures such as CVL and arterial line placement is strongly preferred.
• Experience with mechanical circulatory support is highly desirable.
• Ability to perform physical exams and assist with diagnostic procedures under physician supervision.
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work night shifts.
• Knowledge of ICU protocols and high-acuity patient management.
