Sarasota Memorial First Physicians Group is seeking two PRN Nurse Midwives to join our OB Hospitalist team at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. The role involves providing assessment and care to obstetric patients, managing normal vaginal births, and assisting with C-sections. The position offers flexible scheduling with night and day shifts, in collaboration with the OB Hospitalist group, and includes opportunities for teaching residents and students. The hospital is a high-volume, Level III NICU facility recognized for excellence in obstetrics and gynecology care.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment and care to OB triage, intrapartum, and postpartum patients.
• Manage normal vaginal births.
• First assist in C-Sections.
• Collaborate with the OB Hospitalist group.
• Work in varied night and day shifts, approximately three shifts per month.
• Willingness to teach ER residents, CNMs, and medical students.

Requirements

• Licensed or eligible for licensure as an APRN-CNM in Florida.
• Graduate of an accredited nurse-midwifery program.
• At least one year of recent inpatient experience with inpatient delivery case log available.
• Certified as an APRN by a recognized national certifying body.
• Willingness to work variable shifts, including nights and days.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong clinical competency skills.
• Knowledge of pharmacology related to obstetric care and current prescription writing skills.
• Effective communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
