This position is for a Physician Assistant working under direct physician supervision in an occupational medicine setting. The role involves managing patient care related to injury evaluation, treatment, and prevention, as well as participating in quality assurance, workplace assessments, and educational activities to support occupational health services.

Responsibilities

• Perform medical evaluations, initial and follow-up injury care, and interpret laboratory tests and examinations to determine treatment plans.
• Order and administer medications and treatments in collaboration with the supervising physician.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment as needed; perform procedures such as wound care, suturing, incision and drainage, and local anesthesia.
• Maintain accurate, legible medical records for review and signature by the supervising physician.
• Participate in quality assurance activities, review operational reports, and lead initiatives to improve care quality.
• Recommend and support growth and development of occupational medicine services, including educational programs and staff orientation.
• Conduct workplace assessments, communicate with client representatives, and promote health and safety initiatives.
• Collaborate with the Facility Medical Director to ensure practice compliance with medical policies, standards, and professional guidelines.

Requirements

• Doctoral or Master's Degree in Physician Assistant studies or equivalent education and experience.
• Current NCCPA certification and valid State Physician Assistant License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
• Prescriptive authority with recertification every 6 years.
• Experience in injury evaluation, wound care, and minor procedures.
