The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides patient care in various settings, including acute, short-term, and long-term care, collaborating with physicians and healthcare teams. The role involves assessing patients, developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, and providing health education, with responsibilities including care coordination, documentation, and participation in clinical research as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Obtain comprehensive medical histories and perform examinations or assessments to determine patient needs.
• Analyze and interpret information from patients, medical records, symptoms, physical findings, and diagnostic tests to establish diagnoses.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and independently provide patient care, including formulating treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications based on efficacy, safety, and cost considerations, within legal scope.
• Maintain detailed and timely records of patient care plans, prognoses, and treatment outcomes.
• Make appropriate healthcare referrals and provide health promotion and disease prevention education to patients and families.
• Counsel patients and families on self-management, prevention, and treatment strategies tailored to individual circumstances.
• Stay current with state legal regulations, reimbursement policies, and evidence-based practice guidelines.

Compensation

• Salary-based compensation with W-2 tax status.

Shift & Schedule

• Variable schedule with 12-hour shifts.
• On-call rotations including nights and weekends as needed.
• Every third weekend rotation.

Requirements

• Master's, post-master's, or doctorate degree from an accredited nurse practitioner program.
• Current licensure by the applicable state board of nursing for advanced practice.
• Current DEA permit to prescribe controlled substances.
• Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (NP-C or FNP-BC).
• Demonstrated competence in providing care for an adequate volume of patients within the past twelve months.
• Experience relevant to the privileges requested.
• Ability to work variable shifts, including nights and weekends, with on-call rotations every third weekend.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations, payer systems, and evidence-based practices.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
