The Physician Assistant (PA) will practice medicine under physician supervision, conducting examinations, diagnosing, prescribing medications, and providing therapeutic services across primary care areas such as family medicine, internal medicine, and pediatrics. The role involves patient assessment, treatment, counseling, and documentation within a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physical exams, assess health status, order and interpret tests, prescribe medications, and treat illnesses including injections and suturing wounds.
• Monitor therapies and ensure continuity of care.
• Triages patient calls, evaluates problems, and responds to emergencies including CPR.
• Counsels patients and families on preventive health care.
• Documents patient information and care in medical records.
• Consults with physicians as needed and refers complex cases.
• Provides patient care in various primary care settings.
• Maintains knowledge of medical protocols and documentation standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and successful completion of an accredited physician assistant program.
• Current national certification from the National Commission on Certification of PAs.
• State PA license required.
• Current CPR certification required.

• Knowledge of medical models, anatomy, pharmacology, pathophysiology, and clinical medicine.
• Skills in patient assessment, data analysis, and developing care plans.
• Proficiency in using medical instruments and computer hardware/software.
