We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to serve as a Hospitalist in Chillicothe, Ohio. The role involves providing inpatient care on night shifts, with a schedule of 14 shifts per month (7 on, 7 off). The provider will manage floor calls and assist with code calls, working primarily in an inpatient hospital setting. This locum position offers ongoing work starting January 2026, with competitive compensation and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient hospitalist coverage during night shifts (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.).
• Manage all floor calls and assist with code calls as needed.
• Work approximately 14 shifts per month, with a 7 on, 7 off schedule (flexible).
• Utilize the EPIC EMR system for documentation and patient management.
• Provide care on all hospital floors as assigned.
• Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and standards.
• Collaborate with hospital staff and multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters.

Compensation

• Compensation is commensurate with experience, availability, and certifications.
• Payment model is 1099 (independent contractor).

Requirements

• Active Ohio medical license.
• Board certification as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• At least two years of hospitalist experience as an NP or PA.
• Experience working in an inpatient hospital setting.
• Ability to work night shifts (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.).
• Proficiency with the EPIC EMR system.
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills.
• Willingness to work variable schedule with no call responsibilities.
• Must hold a 1099 independent contractor status.
