The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner will manage an outpatient hand clinic in collaboration with hand surgeons at Penn State Health Hershey Medical Center. The role involves patient evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, follow-up care, and occasional procedures such as injections, casting, and splinting. This is a part-time, daytime position with no nights, weekends, or call responsibilities, primarily focused on upper extremity care.

Responsibilities

• Manage an outpatient hand clinic in collaboration with hand surgeons.
• Perform patient evaluations, diagnoses, and develop treatment plans.
• Provide follow-up care for patients with hand and upper extremity conditions.
• Conduct procedures such as hand injections, casting, and splinting as needed.
• Work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient encounters and treatment plans.
• Participate in ongoing professional development related to hand orthopaedics.
• Adhere to clinical protocols and standards of care.

Compensation

Shift & Schedule

Requirements

• Graduate of an AMA-approved Physician Assistant Program or hold a baccalaureate or higher degree meeting Pennsylvania licensure requirements.
• Current licensure to practice in Pennsylvania, with national certification and reciprocity if applicable.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong interest in hand and upper extremity care.
• Excellent clinical judgment and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Prior orthopaedics or hand experience is preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care.
• Professional licensure and certification must be maintained in good standing.
