Tanana Valley Clinic 1st Care in Fairbanks, Alaska, is seeking an advanced practice provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join their walk-in clinic. The role involves managing a variety of acute and chronic conditions, including orthopedic injuries, minor traumas, and pediatric complaints, with access to on-site diagnostics and imaging. The provider will work independently within a collaborative team environment, providing high-quality community care in a scenic Alaskan setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse patient population with acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and pediatric complaints.
• Perform diagnostics using on-site lab and radiology services, with access to advanced imaging.
• Provide walk-in care in a clinic that operates as an ED-light facility.
• Work independently within a team of 11 providers, maintaining high standards of patient care.
• Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently using electronic health records.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical protocols.
• Maintain professional licensure and certifications, including CME requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and access Mayo Clinic resources through the partnership.

Compensation

• Base salary of $135,000 with a production-based incentive of approximately $110,000 to $123,200, totaling an estimated annual compensation between $245,164 and $258,364.
• Sign-on bonus of $40,000.
• W-2 employment with tax withholding.

Requirements

• Current approval to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant by the State Joint Board.
• Certification from NCCPA.
• Personal DEA license.
• Proficiency in computer applications and database management.
• Demonstrated professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience and judgment to function independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to maintain CME currency as required for NCCPA certification.
• Preferred: Advanced degree, ACLS, PALS, ATLS, or Neonatal Resuscitation certifications.
• Sufficient clinical experience to handle a variety of patient cases confidently.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced walk-in clinic environment.
