A Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) is sought to serve as a Laborist in a Level 2 nursery at a top-ranked health system on the South Carolina coast. The role involves inpatient labor and delivery care, collaborating with the OB-GYN team, assisting with deliveries including C-sections, and managing postpartum care. The position offers rotating 12-hour shifts with night, weekend, and holiday coverage, with no outpatient clinic responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient labor and delivery care, including assisting with deliveries and C-sections.
• Manage postpartum care for patients.
• Work closely with the OB-GYN team to ensure continuous patient care.
• Participate in rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Share 24/7 coverage responsibilities with physicians and other CNMs.
• Utilize Cerner EMR for documentation and patient management.
• Handle an average of 8-12 deliveries per day.
• Contribute to a team providing continuous inpatient obstetric services.

Compensation

• Competitive base salary starting at approximately $135,000 plus sign-on bonus.
• Salary is paid via a 1099 model with incentives.

Requirements

• Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) certification.
• Experience in labor and delivery, preferably in a hospital setting.
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR or similar electronic medical records.
• Strong collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent postpartum and obstetric care skills.
• Current licensure and certification as a CNM.
• Ability to handle a high-volume delivery caseload.
• Commitment to providing continuous inpatient obstetric care.
• Experience working in a Level 2 nursery setting is preferred.
