The role involves performing physical exams, managing patient treatment plans, ordering and reviewing diagnostic tests, and collaborating with physicians to deliver high-quality care. The position emphasizes preventive care, patient education, and continuity of care.

Responsibilities

• Performs complete physical examinations and obtains medical histories.
• Writes prescriptions and orders laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
• Recommends and implements therapeutic plans based on established guidelines.
• Interprets medical records to assist in diagnosis and determine visit timing.
• Provides patient education on treatment options, side effects, and disease management.
• Collaborates with physicians in managing acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
• Manages in-office medical emergencies and documents clinical encounters accurately.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
• Current Nurse Practitioner or PA certification and valid state licensure.
• Experience in a clinical or occupational health setting preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly eCW, advantageous.
• Ability to perform physical exams and develop treatment plans.
• Strong patient communication and education skills.
• Knowledge of gastroenterology and hepatology services preferred.
• Ability to respond effectively to medical emergencies.
• Participation in professional development activities and maintaining professional affiliations.
