The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine is a public medical school within The University of Texas System and the first medical school in East Texas. Based in Tyler, Texas, the four-year MD program emphasizes primary care, preventive health, and service to rural and underserved communities. The School offers graduate degrees, 20 ACGME-approved residency programs and nine fellowships through partnerships with UT Health East Texas and regional health systems, operates four research centers including a center for clinical research, and reports 120 medical students in training and more than 200 resident physicians across the UT Health East Texas system. The School’s main campus address is 3900 University Blvd., Tyler, TX, and it opened initial classes in 2023 with ongoing development of a new Medical Education Building (scheduled for completion in 2025).
