Progressive Emergency Physicians (PEP) is an emergency medicine physician-owned group founded in 2013 and headquartered on Long Island, New York. PEP provides outsourced emergency department management and clinical staffing, and operates emergency medicine training programs including an ACGME-accredited residency, multiple fellowships (ultrasound, observation medicine, administration and leadership) and an 18-month Emergency Medicine PA fellowship. The group staffs and manages multiple hospital emergency departments and associated observation units in lower New York, and reports treating approximately 300,000 patients annually across its sites. Leadership includes Andrew Sama, M.D., FACEP, as CEO. PEP’s services include turnkey ED operations, quality and risk management, revenue cycle management, and hospital partnership development.
