Army Medicine (the Army Medical Department/AMEDD) provides medical, dental, behavioral health, and public health care for Soldiers, families, and eligible beneficiaries through fixed military hospitals, clinic networks, and deployed medical units. AMEDD comprises a large integrated workforce of military and civilian medical professionals (Army Medicine publications note over 130,000 military and civilian members across officer, enlisted, warrant, and civilian specialties) and operates training, research, and deployment-ready clinical units that support both peacetime and contingency operations.
