Ocracoke Health Center is a non-profit community health center on Ocracoke Island, established in 1981 and designated a Rural Health Center in 1982. It is the island’s primary ambulatory clinic and a Federally Qualified Health Center providing primary care for all ages, behavioral health services, dental care, an on-site pharmacy, migrant worker services, and telemedicine. The organization operates from its Ocracoke location and is affiliated with Engelhard Medical Center and Manteo Community Health Center to serve Hyde and Dare counties. The center maintains a volunteer board of directors and a clinical leadership team including a chief medical officer, and accepts donations to support services, transportation, care coordination, and outreach to residents and visitors regardless of ability to pay.
