Featured Story
Thank you for your work bringing Marit to healthcare. I was an employed physician straight out of fellowship and coming up on my 2nd year contract renegotiation. I hired a career coach and everything, but my sub-specialty made broad, and pricy, tools like MGMA useless.
Finally (with some coaching) I asked my colleagues to share their base salaries if they felt comfortable, and all of them did. I found out I was making 65% of my peers and that single experience helped define how I advocate for myself and make sure I am valued. I wish I had Marit then, and I am glad it's here now.
Outstanding work, looking forward to everything you'll do and would love to be a part of it in any way!

Real stories from women using Marit every day to advocate for themselves and get paid fairly
I have really appreciated discovering marit health. I always suspected I was underpaid but it really wasn't until I got on there and compared my salary that I discovered just how bad it was. The taboo about talking about salary in medicine is crazy! I'm currently looking for a better job as a pediatrician and this helps so much with my confidence. An article that would be really helpful is how doctors can insist on a raise. I was at a job for 7 years and didn't receive a penny more at the end as I did at the beginning and was always told no when I asked for a raise.
I'm a family nurse practitioner and there is very little accessible data out there! Thanks for this amazing product!
Thanks again for making this project available. I found it super interesting and helpful to think about as I was looking for jobs and there are few resources available to get a true idea to compare salaries. I think transparency makes for much better information and negotiation for all of us. I truly appreciate what you have been doing.
Great idea and initiative. I've invited some colleagues to contribute already.
I found your salary survey valuable and supportive of my position. I have been in practice for 4 years. A recruiter contacted me and said the was a very good opportunity in town. I informed them of my min. She sent the info over and it was $20k below my minimum to accept. I found Marit and sent the information over to recruiter to support my position on compensation. Thus far, she hasn't contacted me back. I think she found out that the employer will need to rethink their compensation. They won't be able to recruit a quality candidate.
Very cool idea behind the site!!! Thanks for your work increasing transparency!

As a women trainee renegotiating my base pay and unable to access and unwilling/can't afford to pay for gatekeeping databases, this resource is very helpful...Thank you to those who developed this site!
I fully support the concept behind Marit and only wish this could have happened sooner. We have gone through rounds and rounds of compensation meetings with paid consulting groups who cite MGMA data as well as "market data" from local hospitals that are just blatantly wrong. I fully support your efforts and have emailed every trusted physician colleague in my contact list. I hope this takes off and as you continue to grow you will keep this a free service that helps empower physicians.
As recent medical school graduates, having access to real salary data through Marit transformed how my partner (applied IM) and I (applied Peds) are approaching our careers.Truly grateful for the transparency Marit brings to medicine!
I have told female residents for years the only way to get fair compensation is to tell anyone and everyone what you make and the offers you are getting. I will let folks know about Marit.
I think it is a phenomenal idea and resource, and I will be sharing it with all my current and future classmates. Thank you for your ingenuity and care in creating such a resource.
